多年来以酵母细胞及哺乳动物细胞为研究对象,主要从事分子生物学,生物化学以及细胞遗传学等领域的研究。酿酒酵母是良好的真核模式细胞,既具有微生物的特征,又保持着与哺乳动物细胞相似的基本生理过程。目前,团队致力于在酿酒酵母中重新构建哺乳动物细胞的突触小泡融合研究体系、O-GlcNAc糖基化修饰系统的研究,为疾病发生的相关基因的溯源及疾病治疗药物的筛选提供良好的高通量筛选体系。此外,利用酿酒酵母营养态细胞和孢子结构的独特性,研发其作为载体在酶胶囊、药物传递、口服疫苗乃至功能食品等领域的应用技术。
